Hardware & Software Installation

Step 1 — Hardware Installation

Mount the board and wire power, motors & peripherals

  1. Mount BATMAN AIO on the standard 30.5×30.5mm pattern using vibration-dampening grommets, torqued to 0.4N·m.
  2. Connect the battery directly to the VM pads, observing polarity — input is unregulated and protected by a 36V TVS clamp.
  3. Connect all four motors to the M1–M4 pads following the documented rotation/mixing order for your frame.
  4. Wire GPS, VTX, receiver, telemetry, lidar and dual camera to their labeled ports.
  5. Inspect the conformal coating for damage before closing up the airframe.
Step 2 — Software Installation

Install the configurator and connect over USB

  1. Download and install the Kaven Configurator desktop app (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
  2. Install the USB-serial driver if prompted by your OS.
  3. Connect BATMAN AIO via USB-C and confirm it appears in the configurator's port list.
Step 3 — Firmware & Configuration

Flash firmware and set board parameters

  1. Flash the latest firmware release from the configurator's Firmware tab.
  2. Set battery cell count (3S–8S) and motor pole count.
  3. Run the ESC motor-direction detection wizard.
  4. Calibrate the accelerometer and compass.
Step 4 — First Power-On & Verification

Bench-check before the first flight

  1. Remove propellers before applying power.
  2. Power from the battery and confirm the LED heartbeat pattern: solid blue = armed-safe, blinking green = GPS lock.
  3. Run the pre-arm checklist inside the configurator.
  4. Verify each motor spins the correct direction at low throttle.
  5. Re-check connector seating and mounting torque before the first flight.
